Air France Airbus enroute to Paris reported missing!

Today we received some concerning news that an Air France Airbus A330-200 aircraft was reported missing somewhere over the Atlantic, enroute to Paris from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

At this juncture we understand that 228 people checked-in for the flight, which was due to land in Paris CDG at 11:10 hrs local time, being 09:10 GMT. A search and rescue mission is currently under way close to the island of Fernando de Nornonha, off the northeast coast of Brazil.

Flight number AF447 departed from Rio at 19:00 local time (2:20 GMT) and it was reported that contact was lost with the aircraft at 06:00 GMT.
